A new contract with a Singapore hospital is expected to earn dental software company Software of Excellence (NZSE: SOE) around $700,000.

The company has finalised a previously flagged deal with the National University Hospital of Singapore, which has agreed to install its software to run administration and clinical functions within the hospital's dental unit.

CEO, Paul Weatherly, says the agreement for the Singapore installation is very significant in terms of the company's plans to develop its operations in Singapore and South East Asia.

"Given Singapore's commitment to being the high tech hub of South East Asia we believe that this installation will be closely watched by the dental profession throughout South East Asia."

Mr Weatherly says the contract will enable Software of Excellence to establish a Singapore presence in line with the plans outlined in its prospectus, which was issued in December.

SOE has also announced it has signed up another dental chain in the United Kingdom to take its software.

The company says Dencare, which has more than 30 practices in its network and an annual turnover of £23 million, currently has a mixture of dental software systems in place and has agreed to either upgrade or convert to the New Zealand-designed system at 13 of its sites.

Software of Excellence recently announced it had made its first foray into the lucrative US market, signing a deal with a health care organisation in Minnesota.
