21st January 2022 Morning Report

U.S. market rebounded on Thursday as U.S. Treasury yields paused their rapid rise this week. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed + 0.42%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.38% and 0.47%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed higher as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.06%), the Dax 30 (+0.65%), CAC 40 (+0.30%) and the STOXX (+0.73%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.11%), HSI (+3.42%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.09%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.83, while the 2 - year note was at 1.049%. Oil was up to $88.05 per barrel, down 0.44%. The gold price was at US$1839.60 per ounce, up 0.06%.
