OceanaGold has announced the appointment of Dr Michael Roache as vice president, exploration.
Roache will be part of the senior executive team and will oversee all aspects of exploration for the company with a near-term focus on New Zealand and the Philippines.
"We are delighted to have Michael join the team and engage on our extensive suite of mineral tenements in New Zealand and the Philippines," said executive chairman Jim Askew.
"The exploration program in New Zealand has already delivered significant increases in resources and reserves over the past 18 months and Michael will provide added expertise to these programs."
Roache is an industry veteran with over 23 years experience throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand focusing on gold exploration and discovery. Previously with Metex Resources, Delta Gold and AngloGold, Roache led the exploration team at OceanaGold until late 2007 when he temporarily left he minerals industry.
