US markets closed lower on Friday let by weaker big technology-related shares following their recent rally, as data showed US consumer sentiment dropped to a six-month low. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.03%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.16% and down 0.35% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.31%), the Dax 30 (+0.50%), CAC 40 (+0.45%) and the STOXX (+0.19%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.90%), HSI (-0.59%) and the Shanghai Composite (-1.12%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.463%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.991%. Oil was up to $70.09 per barrel, up 0.07%. The gold price was at US$2015.60 per ounce, down 0.21%.
