Chris,

Been away for awhile, and thankfully, missed all "the fireworks", but am 
delighted to hear of your decision to remain a valued contributor.

About short selling and countering the strategy.  I'm not exactly sure of what 
your question is.  Are you talking about countering someone trying to drive the 
price of a good, sound stock down through short selling or someone taking 
advantage of a weak, sick stock to do the same?

While, I'm no expert, I have engaged in short selling from time to time over a 
period of many years.  I might point out it's a good way to get financially 
killed.  However, you can also take advantage (sometimes) of some evil devil 
just trying to drive the price of a good stock down and "get them killed" 
instead of  you.  Let me know more of what it is you're up against and I'll try 
to give you a reasonable answer.  If the details are too personal, feel free to 
contact me offsite.

Again, very very happy your decision was to stay part of the fold, no matter 
how motley it is from time to time.
