Thanks Malcolm Karyn, David - I better
understand.
A personal observation: Have been to Warehouse
stores in Queensland and they're always packed with shoppers.
The Warehouse style of clothing suits the young
market they target here, is priced well, and is perfect for Qld weather -
lightweight cottons, skimpy, etc. Melbourne is a
very different market - different weather conditions, etc.
It would be interesting to see their sales broken
down by Australian state.
Regards,
Cris

Karyn,
You had a
similar good post on similar lines on WHS some time back. A pity a few
Australian`s opinions had not been sought out by Stephen Tindall before he
decided he could do a transplant and impose it on a totally different culture
. On balance the average Australian shopper is far more sophisticated and
street-wise than his Kiwi counterpart .
The rift between
Stephen and Greg must have been far more deep-rooted leading to that CEO`s
departure than we are led to believe . Could it be Stephen is not a good
listener on similar lines to perhaps a Sir Robert Jones .The latter
,seemingly perversely employed accountants with weird names . Caprice can
suggest a dangerous character trait. I wonder how many NZ Companies
think out an exit strategy allied to ambitious moves into Australia
.
