As Charlie Brown would say 'Arrrrgh!'.

You are right of course.  'Tautology' means an unnecessary repetition 
whereas what I meant was a 'Contradiction'.   I knew that, or at least I 
used to ;-(.  But hopefully the context made it clear that the ink in my pen 
turned to whipped cream, at that point.
