Read comments by Boilermaker Bill who writes;

"this is an election year in the US, and Bush is just about jettisoning 
everything over the rail to boost the economic prospects. He isn't about to 
forget the lessons of his father's unsuccessful bid for re-election in 1992."

Boilermaker Bill's argument is that the low US $ is old fashioned pump priming 
to get 'W' back into the White House, and that nothing should be expected to 
change until the US presidential election.
