        Not necessarily in that order of influence . Because there are so many strings attached to this marionette it is difficult to read predictability into his actions.

 

        Don`t get me wrong I am no conspiracy theorist nor have I any barrow to push. I simply do not like to see disproportionate influences bringing pressure to bear to influence world events in a world of diverse viewpoints and positions.I am neither Hawk nor Dove on Iraq . Saddam had to go . Centuries old European diplomacy is preferable to blatant unilateral decisions of a crusading President . Compare the Israeli softly softly approach at Entebbe.

 

       It is interesting to examine leadership . The NZ Prime Minister a couple of years ago was a somewhat harsh caricature of a Head of State. Today she appears before us on TV as a perhaps engaging ,articulate leader. What effected the transition. Hours of  Eliza Dolittle make over . Brian Edwards would have provided all the artificial cues of deportment and techniques of profile exposure ,lighting awareness . Advisers would have trained her in aspects of avoiding the issue and sophistry . Speech therapists would have introduced a softer voice inflection . PR specialists too would have made major contribution to reconstruct the raw material  they were confronted with.

 

      In the case of Bush similar behind the scenes specialists would have attempted major reconstruction .  At the end we the public might reasonably ask" 'Would the real Helen Clark and George Bush please present themselves " Even their own mother`s would question the nature of reality.
