Koizumi has been decisively re-elected as (the ruling) party chief and is intent on seeing a lower Yen. Of course, this will be no mean feat, but if he has success will no doubt impact on the whole region. The USD retreat would seem to raise the stakes on Mr Koizumi's mission. Woody?
