Dear ShareChatters,

I am looking for a group of like-minded individuals to help me set up a Trust Bank for the poor.

Some of you may have heard of the TEARFUND Microenterprise scheme. This is a program for the development of third-world communities by way of lending out small loans to those in abject poverty, in order that they might pull themselves out of despair and desperation by starting a small business.

This to me, is one of the most worthwhile and rewarding ways of helping the poor, and it is also one of the most effective. "The World Bank has recognised 'microenterprise' as one of the most effective and sustainable ways to achieve poverty alleviation".
