One good  thing about exposing ones Ideas in the forum is it brings out some very knowledgeable replies.  With any luck it might kindle the interest of someone with a brain that can do something about it,  Between the lot of us we still don't have a realistic answer of what to do when the oil runs out. It is like being on the plane programmed to hit the mountain having complete faith in the pilot {Ignorance is bliss}.  We are the same as the passengers there is still time but its running out fast its not if but when.   I do have a sneaky feeling weapons of mass destruction fits in somewhere in the scheme of things so If we want to get liberated find a massive oil field.  The earth took millions of years to make oil and we are squandering it in a couple of hundred, with absolutely know Idea on what to do when its gone.   Power for stationary use is not the problem, its power for the trucks tractors and planes must be solved or massive famine and chaos will inevitably follow.  Small countries with lots of oil look out or you will be liberated, after that starve to death it will be survival of the fittest.  Hydrogen is the most abundant never run out fuel there is,  It must be developed into a useable form, one way or another. There is not any alternative.   All the other fuels have a very limited timeframe.  What has all this got to do with the share market?,when it happens my advice would be, sell your shares buy a house in the country and fill it up with a lifetime supply of food.   The timeframe I would think is only about another fifty years before it really becomes obvious.
                      cheers Macdunk.
