[sharechat] DBN - Hemscott
Cheeky bid for Hemscott already consumated by
Hemscott directors taking the offer to give DBN over 50%.
Possibly up to 21p cash per share in the company
but a loss which is gradually falling.
Hemscott produces valuable info covering the UK
sharemarket. Mainly for retail investors but with subscription can be quite

Hemscott valued at a discount
Jonas Crosland |
When a company is worth less than the sum of
its parts.
It is not every day of the week that shareholders
have to consider accepting an offer for the company that they hold shares
in which will result in them taking a loss. This appears to be the case
with Hemscott, the on-line financial information provider.
John
East & Partners, acting on behalf of Dairy Brands New Zealand
confirmed today that its terms of the offer comprise either 15p cash or 3 new Dairy
Brands shares for every 5 Hemscott held.
Based on the share price
at the time, this represents a discount of 14.3%, whereas the share
alternative represents a discount of 26.8%.
The share price fell
8.6% on the news to 16p, and given the fact that it has fallen 92.4% from
its peak, investors will be forgiven for grabbing whatever is on offer.
