Thanks for all that Morgy. Because I would only be 'end of day' trading do you 
still think that it would be beneficial to be awake when the market it open?

Free software I use...well bigcharts and stockfetcher.com. Stockfetcher.com is 
quite a fantastic service and pretty cheap (approx $20/month NZD).

Books I've been reading are Martin Pring's TA explained and Steven Nison's 
Japanese candlestick charting techniques.

No I haven't joined the NZ TA society, any pointers on where I can find out 
some info on what is involved for joining?

I suspect I will continue to be a beginner at this game for a couple of years 
to come. As Nison says in part 1 though, "Japanese proverb - even a 
thousand-mile journey begins with the first step". :)
