Hi Holden A few months ago I attended a seminar with Dr Alex Elder and the subject of trading markets that are not open at what is a normal time for us came up. His recomendation was that you trade the market that fits with your sleeping patterns and trading method, he said that he got into trading wheat futures in Australia which was a good market but after awhile the need for sleep made this job quite onerous. I am not suggesting that this is not viable and indeed if you are not "trading" as such in a short term time frame then it is not a problem but sleep deprivation should be a thought for you. Phaedrus has recomended a broker in the past that he deals with in the US & he may like to drop that in to the forum once again as it slips my memory. Most of the TA & investing books are based on the US market so it is not surprising that they seem to fit that market well. Are you still using free TA software and if so I would be interested in reading your preferred providors. Also, what have been your preferred books if you dont mind me enquiring. Have you joined the NZ TA society, phaedrus pointed out to me sometime ago the videos they have available to members. I am a big fan of Colin Nicholsons web site which literally has a lifetime of TA & investment articles mostly for free and also for a very small fee a subscribers section. Look forward to your reply Regards Morgy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Holden Glova" <dsafari@paradise.net.nz> To: "sharechat.co.nz" <sharechat@sharechat.co.nz> Sent: Tuesday, December 17, 2002 9:23 PM Subject: [sharechat] Markets -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I've been spending lots and lots of time reading and pouring over charts (sometimes coffee) and I have come the conclusion that the NYSE looks easier to TA then the ASX. The candles seem to follow "the rules" more often. It does however look more volatile which can work with or against you. I am interested in anyones opinions and thoughts on this. Also, if you where to trade online in the USA what is involved to setup an account? Anywhere you would recommend using? I had a quick look over ameritrade.com but thought i would ask first. Many thanks in advance for your comments. - -- Signed, Holden Glova -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9/t8N0X8w8X71zPcRAkLJAJ9bMMd1KJ974ZWMFE1zD26bryqQcgCfbk8d AMbCf/qvs2gga/HTuJvTuD4= =hhBg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To remove yourself from this list, please use the form at http://www.sharechat.co.nz/chat/forum/ --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
