Hi Holden,

The NZ market is so small that it is easy to get through the tables of the
Herald or better the NBR.

For US stocks you could use http://screen.yahoo.com/stocks.html
For ASX stocks
http://investor.ninemsn.com.au/investor/Shares/finder/default.asp

Happy Investing,
Christian

There are such things for the US market. I'm not sure about NZ! I
think you might have to do it 'manually'. You might find the
information laid out in the back of the National Business Review each
week of some use. But the NZ market is very thin. If you want to
check out the 'finance' sector you've got ANZ bank, Westpac,
Dorchester Pacific (a very different smaller player) and, well that's
about it. You might have some doubts that an average based on a
datbase of only 3 might not be that useful. I don't know what
others think, but perhaps you might have to look at NZ and Australia
as being one market for statistical purposes. Westpac and ANZ are
Australian anyway, even if they are listed here.

There is a list that appears in the 'Dominion Post' once a week, I
think Mondays, that has a list of the 10 fastest appreciating shares
over the last six months and also the last year. I don't know where
they source it from, but perhaps if you want to see further down the
list you could e-mail them and ask them. Post back here if you find
out. I'd be interested too.
