Kia ora Te Ranganui, of a chiefly line.

I agree, things are pretty quiet on this list.
Why is this? The "other channel" goes from strength to strength. I
follow discussion there closely but, apart from in the very early days
when the format was different, I don't post there. My time is usually
taken up with other obligations and I deliberately limit myself to the
odd posting here.

Perhaps this list is quiet because a lot of the discussion seems to be
about TA. Don't get me wrong Phaedrus and others. I value your input
immensely and certainly look constantly at charts to follow trends in a
simple uncomplicated manner. I remain essentially however a
Fundamentalist. From where I sit, more Fundamental discussion would be
interesting.

Also the "other channel" does get a fair number of postings on less
blue chip shares, small speculatives, "penny dreadfuls" . Many of my
investments are long term and speculative. I wouldn't put money into the
market if I hadn't made my mind up that I could afford to loose it.

Amongst others, I hold SPE, SPE options [a bundle], ITC [still!], BDO,

CBT [ASX], HGD, HGD warrants, SCL, OTR [both here and in Aussie], NGL
and ESO [on the NZ "unlisted" board]. I'm not ahead on these. It would
be difficult!!
On the other hand, my overall loss is quite low, as most have been
bought when they've been well down and certainly way way off their
stratospheric, irrational highs.
I also watch closely ASC and SEX [Yes the ticker is correct!] in
aussie, and EBT [NZ and aussie]. As you can see I'm a great believer in
the frailities of human nature. Gambling and the sex industry of course
being two of the oldest businesses in the world. They're here to stay!
So is the Communication / Technology revolution.
There are, ultimately, some "10 baggers" in this lot. I'm convinced of
this.

It would be great to see productive and positive discussion on some of
these speculative stocks.
In the past there have always been some who have replied very
negatively to this suggestion.
I suspect this post may at least bring some of these negative
individuals out of their holes.

Let's hear you!

Cheers,
John
