I have also been short for only a few minutes too. There is one funny catch. If you short a stock and they go out of business you dont get to cover. You just get all the money as the shares you borrowed no longer exist so hence you dont need to return them. Oh yeah, dont forget that you have to beat the exchange rate just to break even if you are trading US stocks. The NZ dollar may have broken a long term down trend... or should I rephrase that.... the US dollar may have broken a long term up trend.
