The next Investor Interview is with Nuplex Industries MD (NZSE: NPX), John
Hirst.

Nuplex has business operations in Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam
supplying performance chemicals, construction materials and special waste
services to industry and government sectors. The company is primarily known
for making resins for use in industries such as paint, ink and adhesive
manufacturing, however it also manufactures a variety of building products
including flooring and roofing systems.  In addition the Nuplex has an
environmental division comprising waste collection, treatment and recycling
services. First half sales to the end of December 2001 were $214 million
with tax-paid earnings of $9.67 million.  The company described its Vietnam
business as the star performer at the half year although its expansion in
Asia is focused on China. Nuplex has just announced a $57 million takeover
offer for an Australian firm, Asia Pacific Specialty Chemicals, which it
plans to fund by raising up to $75 million in capital notes. The company's
