Hi NK,

Metastock has a component called the "explorer". It will filter the market on any criterea you want (e.g. price is greater/less than X, MACD is above X, Volume is X% higher/lower than average, RSI is whatever...you get the idea)

Metatock won't "suggest" any stocks, it will filter stocks to the criterea you give it. This is undoubtably Metatocks best feature - as well as the "expert advisor" (handy for deciding what your "explorer" criterea will be.

I use the explorer every day to spit out 10-30 shares each day. It means I can narrow my analysis (technical) down to a manageable number of shares (rather than randomly looking through the entire Australian and NZ market). This list then gets pruned down to 3-4 for my "watchlist" that I properly monitor and analyse.

The formula for the explorations is reasonably complicated but can be "mastered" (this is probably not the right word)even with my limited math skills

I got my Metastock tuition from Intelligent Investing and agree with Mike - well worth the money and a great place to start (after spending a couple of moths trying to figure out which way was up with MS, it was nice to get a push in the right direction).

Does anyone know of Fundamental filtering software? e.g P.E > X, Asset backing<X

Regards,

Nua
