Thought for a quiet Sunday. Currently Bloomberg (and others) are awash
with rumours of what Apple will be announcing at next week's MacWorld
conference. Even allowing for the hype it looks like it will have to be
something pretty major, otherwise Steve Jobbs is going to fall flat on his
face - and he's not known for doing that very often!
One of the popular picks by US industry "experts" for the "product of the
decade" is a flat screen Macintosh - this sent me putting 2 and 2 together,
and probably coming up with 5. Recently Deep Video Imaging (30% owned by ITC)
reported a major announcement due in early 2002 - interesting, but not
significant? Put that with the fact that DVI won the product of the show at a
major exhibition in US late 2000 (this show was attended by Steve Jobbs and he
was reported as being very impressed with the DVI product) plus DVI have been
promoting their screens as an ideal desktop application for anyone in the
graphics/design areas because of its ability to utilise multiple "3D" layering
- people who use Macs??
Anyone else got any bits of hearsay that may complete the puzzle?
