Part of the problem is that many older people have
switched to interest rates. They have done well but in the meantime, they feel
perhaps that there is no need to talk about shares.
I have always encouraged people to invest in
Australian stocks; let us admit it, one could have foreseen the eventual demise
of the NZSE long ago.
Sure, it will continue in a minor role but there is
not enough choice left for the investor. And one can't force him/her to pay high
prices, simply because these are NZ stocks!
Globalisation is but one of the factors
contributing to that. Bad management making it a habit of making wrong
key decisions, is another. And the NZSE is now under close scrutiny by
the Government!
Most countries understand the phrase: "Take over
or be taken over". That is the nature of economic warfare.
That in turn will also force chat sites to
concentrate on NZ stocks of lesser or no value.
The introduction of Australian and other stocks to
the forums should therefore be welcomed, not only because they serve as a
replacement for NZ stocks lost, but it is obvious that we can't live in
isolation.

I have additional business commitments
and won't be able to contribute to the Forum from now on save for
paying attention to the LTI series. This requires little time,
anyway.
There are people who have been following some
of my recommendations (I wish that CLI would make up its
mind!).
I shall continue contributing to those few relevant
Australian message boards, whenever I can find the time.
But for further recommendations on Australian
stocks, you will need to access this site:
It is possible that I may recommend a stock in
one of my posts on that site ( At present, recommendations will be few
). Obviously, you buy at your own risk!
Thank you Sharechat for having given me the
opportunity to express my thoughts!
And special thanks to those contributors who
continue posting to the Forum!
And readers, start posting!
