The next ShareChat Investor Interview is with the CEO of Pacific Retail
Group (NZSE:
PRG), Peter Halkett.
Pacific Retail Group is a major retail company in New Zealand and owns the
appliance and computer chains Noel Leeming, Bond & Bond, Computer City and
Big Byte. It also owns the the homeware and gift chain Living & Giving, and
a finance business, Pacific Retail Services. PRG's revenue for the year
ended March 2001 was $402 million with a profit of $10.4 million. Eric
Watson's investment company, Cullen Investments, is the biggest shareholder
through its Logan Corp subsidiary, which owns around 71%. Logan recently
made a takeover bid for the business at $1.76 but an appraisal report has
put the value of the business at $2.54.

relating to the Logan Corp bid.
