James,
A technical indicator which might be useful to find bottomed out stocks is
Weighted Average Volume. This indicator uses volume to show
strength/weakness in bearish behavior. If a stock reaches an all time low
and the indicator is higher than the previous low, it indicates a potential
buying oportunity.
It is still safer to wait till a trend develops however.
I have have yet to prove this indicator works, but I read about it in the Dr
Alexander Elder book. (Trading for a living). Does anybody use this
indicator?
