For a beginner i would recommend a full service
broker ie j.b.Were . You will pay slightly more in
brokerage but will have access to top quality reports,
preferential treatment on new floats and a personal
advisor. Plus accesss to the website complete with
daily and weekly private client reports.
To start with i would only select a stock which
this broker recommends as a buy or an accumulate, which
you choose is up to you. This will make sure that while you
are finding your feet at least you will be invested in the quality
end. ie SKC, GPG , CEN , WAM ,TRH ,MFT LNN, SKY
etc
Choose quality and stick with it, dont make the common
mistake of switching from one to the other, just because
it is the current talked about stock.
When you feel you want to try some trading , then open a seperatre
account with a discount broker and put in a % of your money
you are prepared to gamble with. Then take advice from an
excellent technical analyst like Mr P and have a go at making
some money.
To sum up Top quality investments for the long term.
seperate account and speculating for the short term.

    Nick
