The tragic and turbulent events of September wreaked havoc with the vast majority of the portfolios. There were only four, on the back of MSL, that made a profit for the month. The average portfolio lost 11.6% for the month and is now down by 10.5% for the year. Only 19 out of the 75 portfolios are now making money. Top Five:Despite dropping $20k for the month Chris Castle is still $26k ahead of John Ascroft who jumped nine places. Michael Yielder has moved up four places to third spot perhaps indicating the value of a conservative dividend generating selection. Marilyn regains nine places to number four whilst John Oliver rounds out the top five.. Moving up: Iccon up 24 to 11 Maverick up 21 to 28 Keith Frankum up 19 to 24 Murray Mcclean up 15 to 38 Andrew Cooper up 14 to10 All holders of MSL (and were big losers last month) except Murray who just did not lose as much as most of us. Sliding Down: JJB down 21 to 60 (TEL, CER, the former AQL) Adreienne O’Sullivan down 13 to 15 (SVY, BRY) Nick Kearney down 12 to 45 (CER, TEL) Damien Popplewell down 10 to 67 (BRY, AIR) SS Barneyt down 10 to 35 (AIR, BCH) Best Broker ABN AMRO $58,542 (7th ) Worst Broker DF Mainland (70th) $31,937 Dishonourable mention UBS Warburg $37,603 (61st) Share Gainers – MSL 45.8% TLS 9.8% PRG 6.6% LPC 2.9% WHS, NUF, RTX, ARB, FIN No change Share losers: AIRVB 65.2% AIRVA 57.9% CER 56.3% SVY 43.9% BRY 39.7% Dividends STU, WAM, FRU, POA, TEL, WRI, RBD, FAP, FCT, HFE, SKC If I have missed any please let me know.
