[sharechat] The Peoples Airline & Brierly

When Sir Ron was chairman of Brierlys he often used literary quotations in annual reports. On one occasion he used;

    It was the best of times it was the worst of times.

from Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities

I recommend the following quotation from the Book of Ecclesiastes be used in their next annual report;

I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift,
nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet
riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but
time and chance happeneth to them all.

I am not sure if such erudition will save the directors when the tumbrels roll.

Boop-doop-de-do Marilyn
