Some years ago I managed a service station for a
very wealthy NZ family. We were paid bonuses as part of our salary package.
However our contracts also meant that we were unemployed if we did not reach
profit targets. Unforseen circumstances were taken into account but thre was
definitely never any bonuses for "working hard in difficult times". Maybe that
is why that particular family has continued to prosper. It is long overdue that
managers and senior staff contracts have payment terms that reflect company
performance in the P/L account. Come to think of it Directors should also have
similar remuneration packages.
Cheers
