Yes, Ben. It's a case of greed
and self-interest above the interests of the company and
the shareholders. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in New
Zealand companies at present. As a shareholder ( rightly or
wrongly) once observed in respect of Brierley, " the company is being
run for the benefit of the management, rather than for the benefit of the
shareholders".
