I'm not going to address your point about executive responsibility, just that it struck me that with all the closures there will be a lot of aircraft becoming available on the international market, plus a drop in demand for avgas, plus a surplus of aircrew and cabin crew. You will see a drop in aircraft leasing costs, a drop in avgas prices and a drop in the cost of hiring aircrew (or at least a very good reason why you shouldn't pay the next payrise) Whilst I am a totally biased Qantas shareholder, I still think that the future for soundly run airlines with a bit of cash is looking very good indeed.
