Although Bain is reportedly looking to sell I can't
see this as a negative for the company, certainly not at this stage. If a
company with strong synergy opportunities (Cadbury Schweppes was mentioned this
morning) was to take a holding this would provide benefits. However if
doubt over the stakeholding lingers that always brings a degree of uncertainty
which the market hates.
Like many stocks Frucor has been trading at lows
recently although I note it was mentioned the other day by a broking house -
can't remember which one - as a possible safe harbour because of its
cashflow. If you have been following the stock you will be aware that its
price has been dominated by how well it is doing in the UK. Sales figures for
the 2001 northern summer are currently anticipated and will have a bearing
on the future price.
Cheers, Phil
