 A downtrend is a downtrend. There is no need to attempt to explain it - it 
exists, that is enough. It is always possible to attribute any trend to 
something - rightly or wrongly.

 Fundamentals do not negate technical analysis. How could they? Fundamental 
analysis identifies stocks that ought to rise (or fall). Technical analysis 
identifies stocks that are rising (or falling). No conflict there. I select 
stocks to trade using fundamentals, but use Technical analysis solely and 
exclusively to trade them. Incidentally, no one ever said trading had to be 
fair!
