Yes Noel governments do sometimes act incompetently when trying to run businesses. Governments though are unable to blame the corporates when a government run business goes bad. As I see it the real issue here is that some of the most "experienced and astute" business people in Australasia were unable/unwilling to read a P/L account.

There have been huge political maneuveres going on from all the players and this has meant logic went out the window early on.
