Yes, rightly or wrongly the Kiwi brand is not a shining light in Aussie.  Everyone played hardball - and the result is clear for all to see.  The anger and response from Anderson the Aussie Transport Minister is frightening!  Perhaps if there was a real Statesperson around, this was an opportunity for a Singapore - Aussie - NZ cooperation.  The Aussies might think the Yanks are their best friends - but they may find in the long run they should put more energy into "near neighbour" relationships.  The Aussie Governments desire for a competitive market place, with favouritism towards Qantas is a complete oxymoron - but they can't understand it - its like running the Olympics with pre-ordained winners ----- then someone does not play to the rules -- in Rugby and netball you understand it - you put on a good show and come second -- the blame lies with you Kiwis, ... in this case you did not stick with the plot   -  you didn't do as you are told!!!  (and can't play cricket either!)
