ASB Securities definitely my first choice. Been with them for nearly two years, and they are miles ahead of full-servie brokers in terms of utiility. They are really helpful and efficient, very forgiving of mistakes made by beginners, and cheap ($24.95 for trades around the $3000 mark.) And their website is a very useful first stop in terms of real-time Watchlists, Announcements, Market depth for Aussie market, and Research and Analysis of NZ and Aussie companies.
