[sharechat] TOWER: Investor Interview

ShareChat's next Investor Interview will be held with TOWER Managing
Director James Boonzaier.

We welcome all investors - past, current and potential - to submit questions
they would like asked of Mr Boonzaier.

TOWER Group was listed when the insurance and financial services company
demutualised in 1999, allotting shares to members at $5.65.  The company has
often been mentioned as a possible takeover target and recent corporate
activity has included both Australian and New Zealand acquisitions. Over 70%
of its revenues - which were $1.717 billion last year -  are generated from
outside New Zealand. In its latest financial result for the half-year ended
March profit rose 1% to $38.9 million compared with last year, reflecting a
25% increase in operating margins. However sales for the period fell to
$621.8 million from $896.2 million previously, and its operating surplus
before unusual items and tax fell from $75.7 million last year to $49
million. MD, James Boonzaier described the interim profit as "very
satisfactory given the difficult market conditions."  TOWER has more than
$22 billion in group assets under management.

The Investor Interview offers everyone a unique chance to question CEOs of
listed New Zealand companies about their businesses, but any interview is
only as good as the questions that get asked so your participation in these
interviews is actively encouraged.
