It seems to me that it's irrelevant to "ethical" investors...they're not in
SKC anyway.
And I don't know that SKC investors should be that happy.Another way of
looking at the announcement is that SKC's growth potential is somewhat
capped.Their core expertise is casino management despite the moves to
broaden out to an "entertainment enterprise" by investing in Canbet and
Force.These non casino investments haven't been instant successes by any
measure although they may value up in the longer term.
Personally I think the Government is (in it's usual dimwitted self serving
way) solving the wrong problem.The problem gambling issue is the
proliferation of Pokies.It's too much access,poor provider management and
dishonest operation of these Pokies in clubs,pubs and all the non casino
sites that constitute the real problem.These negatives are much better
managed in a casino environment.
But hey,thanks to our brilliant politicians ,we won't have the power to play
with these toys anyway.
By the way,is it "ethical" to invest in CEN or any of the electricity
retailers when poor,old and infirm people can't afford to turn a heater on?
