Two interesting mergers/takeovers appear to have been finalised this week in
aus. which may deserve a little attention from any interested
parties.Firstly the" wesfarmers" take over of "howard smith" which creates a
somewhat bizarre position of strength in the aus. hardware,home improvement
sector(which is just galloping along).
And the other is the take over of F H faulding(generic
pharmaceuticals,retail pharmacy)by mayne nickless(healthcare&
logistics).Have watched mayne nickless struggle for a couple of years now
but they have a good management team(ex. colonial)and this purchase appears
to be a good strategic "fit".
Wesfarmers has already risen considerably in the last year or so but is
still an interesting prospect.
new ideas for anybody interested anyway.
