I did some which cost me a phone call to the share registry, they sent me an "off market transfer form". The transfer cost was Nil. I'm not sure if all companys /share registrys will do it at this price or not. It did get rid of 30 bonus shares that I had been wondering what do with

   It is only a few hundred dollars worth, and wont bother

if the process is going to be costly or complicated
