Regarding your last sentence. I understand the lakes are low at the moment. The snow falling in the hills at the moment will help the supply in spring.

Subject: [sharechat] CEN

In the news I see talk of low levels of South Island hydro lakes and high wholesale electricity prices.  Today I read that NIWA scientists are confirming their prediction of a few months back of a warm winter despite the recent cold snap.  Can anyone explain to me what effect these factors have on Contact Energy's bottom line?  I had thought that a cold winter plus full hydro lakes equals good business for CEN.  regards  Michael
