ASB Securities website has live quotes for both Australia and NZ if you are an internet client.  I reccomend them highly: efficient, friendly, very helpful and patient (esp when learning to trade), and reasonbly cheap (NZ 24.95 for basic trades on NZ shares. $AUS30 for Aussie shares. They also have basic graphing (soon to be updated) and live (I think) market depth for All Ords. They also have a company research and current announcements facility.

I find combining ASB live information with Stockhouse's free  (no registration required) researching and graphing (absolutely fantastic, but delayed), works reasonably well in providing the larger picture.
