My bullish recommendation to buy Affco in my post of Thu, 02 Nov 2000 09:26:04 +1300, has obviously been herded up the race and stunned in the sticking pen by the recent odd events at the company.
In my defence I included the following warning in that post;
Perversely in making this buy recommendation I
will be reluctant to commit my own cash to this industry. I have lost a
lot of money over the years waiting for the meat industry to create shareholder
wealth (Waitaki Fortex), so I am a bit gun shy. For example Alliance is
paying its 1st dividend for 10 years shortly. What I am saying is things
are looking up,
but over the years the meat industry has been
an investors graveyard.
Surely the series of stumbles and prat falls which have occurred in this listed company and the resultant affect on the share price, all without a satisfactory explanation from the directors, is sufficient to prompt a query from the stock exchange?
