Does anyone else get a little
confused reading their late notice to the exchange ? ( copied below)
Whoever edits/writes
these things needs to tidy their act
up a bit. It was supposed to be a clarification, but I was reading not about two
entities, but three..namely : Rocom Wireless Ltd, Rocom Wireless, and
Rocom Ltd.
GEN: ROC: STATEMENT FROM ROCOM WIRELESS LIMITED
Statement from Rocom Wireless Limited: At the end of last week, ROCOM Wireless Limited reported a loss of $14,000 for the year ending 31 December 2000. ROCOM Wireless would like to clarify that, for the 2000 financial year, ROCOM Wireless and ROCOM Limited were separate entities and that the last week's announcement does not reflect the financial performance of ROCOM Limited. For the 2000 financial year, ROCOM Wireless existed as a shell company only, and remained so until the acquisition of ROCOM Limited in January 2001. Before its acquisition, ROCOM Limited was a privately owned company operating as Telecom New Zealand's largest accredited dealer of cellular technologies and connections to the corporate market, and as a provider of satellite communications services. The acquisition of ROCOM Limited, which recorded a profit for each of the last five years, puts ROCOM Wireless in a strong position to leverage the roll out of CDMA in New Zealand in mid-2001. ROCOM Wireless is now a leader in the provision of wireless communications solutions. As well as supplying 30% of Telecom's corporate customers and being a major player in the Australasian satellite communications market, ROCOM Wireless has a Wireless Computing Division, which specialises in the integration of wireless computing and mobile telephony. |
