So all the rumours that The
Warehouse will run their own bank appear to have some substance
........
From todays
Sunday Star Times http://www.stuff.co.nz/inl/index/0,1008,693908a10,FF.html
It is those 1.7 million people who visit The
Warehouse stores each week that is the companies strength. Leveraging a customer
base of that size enables The Warehouse to try these initiatives - - and the way
that they are planned and implemented ensures success rates will be pretty
high.
Two unheralded factors will ensure The Warehouse
getting even greater share of the NZ retail market. One is the obvious sharing
of ideas with the likes of Tesco - the other being the knowledge and know how
they have taken on from eventures.
Rest assured, sometime in the future The Warehouse
will be New Zealand' s largest on-line retailer as well. No need to push on-line
retailing just now. Already developed and capable - only a matter of
implementing when the time is right.
No doubt some investors will be disappointed with
the earnings they announce tomorrow - whatever they are. If so don't get too
dismayed. Think of the future.
Cheers
Peter
