Paul,
I am an AFFCO shareholder.
Not that much to report but they said that a
dividend would depend on a quick end to the vet strike and they would let us
know on 27 Febr.
Suggest you wait for that
announcement.
Their web site : < www.affco.co.nz > does not yet refer to the
meeting, however at the bottom of the page are some news items shown on a
revolving bar. Click quickly on any item which appears and there you
are!
The latest news is that Sweden is now
checking if they have a BSE problem.
Unfortunately, there are European import
restrictions on beef; presumably others from the EEC are still supplying a
reduced market.
As one supplying country after another '
falls over ', there could be a case made- sooner or later- to free up the
imports of beef traded by AFF!
Further scares re chickens have resulted in a heavy
demand for fish and I believe that the market for certified lamb from
outside Europe is growing brighter by the
day!
Have you been in Europe and what did you
learn?
Gerry
