Lang Corp is a great story - especially what they have
done over the last few years. Thanks Gerry for bringing such companies to our
attention.
This does highlight one advantage of a combined NZ and Australia market -
the number and diversity of the companies in Australia creates more exciting and
interesting stories, and opportunities. Something we should not overlook.
Back to Lang Corp and a bit of local interest. This was in "The
Age" today -
"It is also thought
the stevedoring concern is mulling the acquisition of international ports
assets, possibly in New Zealand, having already achieved a dominant market
position in Australia. "
Ports of Auckland a possibility? or one of
the other ports around the country?
What has impressed me is Langs future initiatives in creating
a seamless transistion of goods from ports to rail to the customer. Hence Langs
apparent interest in Australia Government interests in rail links.
Makes you wonder what happen if Lang Corp got their hands on
the Port of Auckland - and Tranz Rail.
Cheers
Peter
