[sharechat] Markets ?

From: "Mark Hubbard" <mhubbard@es.co.nz>

I don't need to tell anyone here that the US, Europe and Asian markets are
all having a torrid time at the moment - as is my portofolio.

One of those funny old things - the share portfolio I've invested (most
overseas), which I thought was for the long term, may now need to be called
on early in the New Year (to build a house - how could I have missed that!).
Anyway, for those of you with an opinion, do you think markets have bottomed
out (isn't there traditionally a December rally in the US?), or do they have
further to fall? [I've had no time at all over last year to do my
homework].

So, cut my losses (groan) and cash up now, or hold out until January.

My personal opinion is that world markets have over-corrected, thus maybe
due for rally. My one worry is, however, that NZ$ may be due for an
appreciation as US economy slows.

But then again, it seems I've 'always' been wrong in the past.

Cheers
