We are running a poll on ShareChat with the question - Should the NZSE merge
with the ASX?

I think this could also be a good discussion topic and would be interested
in hearing people's views on the subject - should we merge?  Here's what we
say on the poll page:

"Should the New Zealand Stock Exchange merge with the Australian Stock
Exchange? This is a question that many commentators in the past have said
"yes" to - however, new voices are now saying that any merger will be
unhealthy for the New Zealand economy and New Zealand companies.

One of their arguments is that many New Zealand companies are too small, and
will get swallowed up by the ASX. Indeed, some say that calling it a
"merger" is laughable - no merger will take place, rather, the ASX will
"take-over" the NZSE, leaving many of New Zealand's smaller companies
unnoticed in the joint exchange.

Several other complex issues are also involved, including questions of
currency, taxation and how much money current members of the NZSE will
receive from the demutualization of the exchange."

So people, feel free to cast your votes and post your opinion's.  I look
