You don't remember the 1953 floods ??  Worst ever ?

There is absolutely no way you can say that any storm is caused by
greenhouse or whatever.  The natural variability of weather is much much
larger than any medium term effect of global warming or cooling.  Best
analogy is sitting on a beach watching the tide come in.  There are several
breakers each minute, some big, some small, while over the space of 6 hours
the tide rises.  The tide rise is imperceptable compared to the waves.

However, one observable long term effect in New Zealand is the recession of
glaciers.  There is less accumulated  precipitation (snow)  now than there
was few hundred years ago.  It's getting drier, not wetter!
