Comment: When will tin pot upstarts stop claiming to be ' a/the leading company' or ' one of the world leaders' ??

 

It certainly sells IPO's to the uncritical and greedy investors!

 

I like to comment on selected stocks:

 

1. GENESIS.Website:www.genesis.co.nz

At this stage, results from the promising PSORIASIS (Flaking skin disease)  Phase II clinical trials are due before Jan.                                                                       Prominent companies world wide will be evaluating the possible outcome. Possibly, the latest rise in share price could be based on anticipation of a successfull result.

 

There could be a scramble for rights to sell the product

before the last Phase III is to start early next year. If so, then share price could rise.

 

2.AFFCO. Recommended to friends in Jan. when the share price was 33 cents and coupled with a prediction that this could rise to 50-60 cents before Dec.

That was before the NZ dollar really dropped.Refer  to my comments on 4 Nov.

Results from Alliance and other meat companies show significant increases in earnings.

 

I expect a rise in the price of AFFCO shares, starting from Monday; The annual result is due shortly.

 

3. TOURISM HOLDINGS LIMITED. Website: www.thlnz.co.nz See my comment on Nov 6.

 Annual Meeting on Monday!

 

4.LANG CORPORATION LIMITED. (LAC.AX), Web site: www.lang.com.au  Refer to the study published on Nov 6,7,8.

A 'STRONG BUY'  on LACO was made. I consider that the present $A 2.50 price is too low and should  be well over $A 3.00!!

The ANNUAL ANNOUNCEMENT will be due shortly and expectations are high!

 

5. ORBITAL ENGINE CORPORATION LIMITED.(OEC.AX).

Website: www.orbeng.com.au/  Their technology has been widely applied to watercraft and motorbikes. Petrol savings exceed 30 % and pollution has drastically declined. Savings of over 10 % have been found in test cars. Orbital thinks that this could approach 20 % if petrol can be injected through the spark plug.                                                     It has formed alliances with SAAB(subsidiary of GENERAL MOTORS) and  SIEMENS.  

The company would benefit if the 'CARBON CREDITS' concept were implemented.

Orbital's share price is rising slowly over time.

 Significant announcements could be made from now on. 

 

6. MICROMEDICAL INDUSTRIES LIMITED.(MMD.AX).Website:www.micromed.com.au/

 

The advanced heart pump will be shown to shareholders on Monday. MMD will implant their artificial heart into patients early next year in Melbourne.

 

Current share price of 34 cents is not that high,in my opinion.

Past publicity has been muted and this may have been a cause.
